With Bin Laden finally whacked, the war on terror will soon be
over, if not over already.
Could this mean that the USA finally repeals some of the
rediculous laws made because of 9/11. Hopefully Congress
will now repeal the provsision that declares certain sporting
events, including the Olympics, "National Security Events".
That has been a major sore spot in the United States
trying to get another Olympics, becuase that section
puts the Secret Service in charge of Olympic security,
the the IOC has to do what the USSS says. The IOC
generally does NOT like to be told what to do. If
this provision were repealed, it would give America
a better chance of getting another Olympics someday.
Antarctic Forum nations, particulary Australia, have
not been immune from Al-Qaeda plots. A number
of Aussies were killed in a Bali bomb blast some
years ago, and the Australian federal police have
broken up a few terror plots in Australia, itself.
After 10 years, the War On Terror is finally
coming to an end, it looks like. That might
be an interesting show to add to our radio
station, the "War On Terror Years", featuring
popular music from 2001-2011.
